Mentoring for aspiring civic farmers

Starting a civic agriculture project rarely happens alone. Behind every inspiring civic agriculture initiative — a community garden, a social farm, a cooperative market — there is usually someone who offered guidance at the right moment: a question answered, a mistake avoided, a door opened.

This support is designed for aspiring practitioners across Italy, Croatia, and Greece — including young people, newcomers to the sector, and anyone who has engaged with CIVICA's activities and wants to go further. In particular, mentoring is offered to participants of CIVICA's workshops and study visits who express interest in developing their own civic agriculture project.

If this is you, reach us out through the CIVICA platform to connect with a mentor and start shaping the next step of your journey. Whether you're still shaping a concept or ready to take your first concrete steps, our mentor is here to help you navigate the practical, financial, and organizational challenges of launching a civic agriculture initiative.

You don't need to have it all figured out; you just need the motivation to start.

Depending on where you are in your journey, mentoring can help you with:

  • Clarifying and refining your project idea

  • Identifying available support, funding opportunities and understanding relevant EU and national policies

  • Support in engaging citizens and building community

  • Developing a sustainable and realistic business model

  • Learning from real case studies and best practices across the three project countries
