Microcosmo (Project Coordinator)

Italy

Microcosmo is a certified multifunctional organic farm located in central Italy (Umbria Region). Established in 2016, it specialises in organic, sustainable, social and civic agriculture. Its primary activity is the cultivation and sale of vegetables, marketed mainly through direct sales and solidarity purchasing groups. The farm's multifunctional nature is reflected in its workspaces being made available to host research, adult education and innovation projects on organic and social farming, as well as the protection of agrobiodiversity. Additionally, it offers training programmes and employment services for disadvantaged individuals, as well as school-to-work transition programmes for students with disabilities.

As an organic farm, Microcosmo participates in various civic and social farming projects at both local and European level. Its most recent projects focus on civic agriculture: the Erasmus+ CIVICA project and the Connect NEB C.U.R.A. project, both co-funded by the European Union.
